Privacy Policy
Last updated October 4, 2026
DoomJar is made by Tuschay Studios LLC ("DoomJar", "we"). This policy explains what we collect through doomjar.com, the DoomJar Chrome extension and the DoomJar phone app, and what we do with it.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address and a securely hashed password.
- Your Doom List: the apps and sites you choose to limit, and the daily limit for each.
- Time on your Doom List: how many minutes per day you spend on each app or site on your Doom List. The extension measures this on your computer and only sends us the totals for sites on your Doom List.
- Your time zone, so your daily limits and points reset at your midnight.
- Points, cookies and Cookie Jar activity: your daily points, shame points, cookie balance, jar balance, deposits, penalties, refunds and settings such as caps and where penalties go.
- Payment details: handled by Stripe. We store a reference to your card and its brand and last four digits, never the full card number.
What the Chrome extension does on your computer
To time your Doom List, the extension looks at which tab is in front, its web address, whether the page is visible and whether you have been idle. It does not read what is on the page, what you type, or your passwords. It keeps a per-site time count for today in your browser's own storage, and only the totals for Doom List sites leave your computer. On doomjar.com it also reads your sign-in so you don't have to sign in twice, and shares today's times with your dashboard.
How we use it
- To run DoomJar: track your limits, warn and block, keep score, and apply the penalties you turned on.
- To process subscriptions, top-ups and refunds through Stripe.
- To show the leaderboard, where other users see a masked version of your email, your cookies and your shame points for the week.
- To show your accountability partner, if you add one, the points and shame activity you share with them.
We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.
Who else handles it
- Stripe for payments.
- Railway to host our servers and database.
- Cloudflare to serve doomjar.com securely.
- Apple and Google if you use the phone app. Screen Time and usage data used for blocking stays on your phone.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is open. If you ask us to delete your account we delete your personal data, except payment records we are required to keep for tax and accounting.
Your choices
- You can edit your Doom List, pause penalties or remove the extension at any time.
- You can ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion by emailing [email protected].
Age
DoomJar is not for children under 13. You must be 18 or older to use the Cookie Jar or money penalties.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and tell you in the app for anything significant.
