Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Tuschay Studios LLC ("DoomJar", "we") for using doomjar.com, the DoomJar Chrome extension and the DoomJar phone app. By using DoomJar you agree to them.

What DoomJar is

DoomJar is a commitment device for your screen time. You choose apps and sites to limit, the limits, and any consequence for going over. You can never win money with DoomJar: cookies and money only ever leave your jar. Golden cookies and points have no cash value.

Your account

• You must be at least 13 to use DoomJar, and 18 or older to use the Cookie Jar or money penalties.
• Keep your sign-in safe. You are responsible for activity on your account.

Points and shame points

Every account gets 1,000 points a day, reset at your local midnight. Keeping going past a limit costs points. If you turn off blocking and keep going with no points left, you get shame points: they lower the next day's points and appear on the leaderboard and to your accountability partner.

Subscriptions

• Pro and Max renew automatically each month or year until you cancel. You can cancel any time from Billing, and you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
• Your first Pro payment goes into your Cookie Jar.
• Prices are shown before you pay and may change with notice. Founders pricing stays locked for as long as you keep that subscription.

The Cookie Jar and penalties

• Money in your jar is money you set aside on purpose. The minimum top-up is $5.
• Money penalties are off until you turn them on, confirm twice, and wait out a 24-hour cooling-off period. After that, going over a limit takes the penalty amount you chose from your jar. Penalties never charge your card directly.
• Penalties are capped by the daily and monthly limits you set, and never more than $50 a day.
• You can pause penalties at any time with the pause button, and the pause takes effect immediately.
• You choose where penalties go: a charity, your accountability partner, or DoomJar. For charities and partners, DoomJar keeps 30% to cover payment processing and running the service.
• You can refund a deposit, first payment or penalty within 7 days from the History page.

Fair use

Don't misuse DoomJar: no attacking or overloading the service, no getting around limits on other people's accounts, and no using it to harass anyone, including through the leaderboard or partner features.

No guarantees

DoomJar is provided as is. Tracking depends on your device, browser and the permissions you grant, and may miss or mistime some use. DoomJar is not medical or mental health treatment. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, not counting money in your jar, which you can always ask us to return.

Ending your account

You can stop using DoomJar and ask us to close your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that break these terms. See our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data.

Changes

We may update these terms. We will update the date above and tell you in the app before significant changes take effect.
